boarding, and painting, and projects oh my!

so this weekend has been pretty eventful. we went snowboarding to beaver mountain again but this time with a brand new attitude! I thought i should try to be more daring, so i tried some jumps! this one probably is a little wussy but at least i landed it unlike the 10 others where i ended up white washed.

Tlyncia on the other hand is a much better boarder than me and derek, and i think it is safe to say better than me and derek combined! she was going through trees, carving in and out of people, and even tried the box which she successfully did more than once... so i am sure it wasn't just luck.

once again no pictures or videos of derek (i am a horrbile wife) because the camera batteries died and we didn't bring spares.

We also started another task this weekend... the garage. we finshed all the shelves about a week ago so we set on the task of the stairs. I don't like the fact that we always bring dirt in with our shoes when we walk in from the garage so i had derek build a shoe/coat rack. but then it turns out that taking off your shoes in the garage and walking up the dirty steps defeats the purpose of trying not to bring dirt in the house, so me and tlynica decided to paint the stairs and carpet the steps.

so here are the before and afters:

we still have the back wall to paint brown but that will come after we finish derek's work bench. it is fun to see the house come together now that the inside is competely how we'd like it. despite my original intentions we ended up with what derek wanted... a big flat screen in the living room and bedroom, but he let me pick out new couches so it helped even it up a bit. we are hoping to be done with the garage before spring so we can focus on the outside of the house when the weather is better. a place for regan to run around. well we'll keep you updated on the garage progress...
