Christmas 2009

so i have been very bad at this blogging thing lately...

but we had a great christmas!

we started some new traditions last year and did a good job about keeping them this year. For christmas eve our tradition is that we watch a christmas movie and do a puzzle while eating one of those big tins of variety flavor popcorn (my favorite is the cheesy kind). so this year derek was in charge of the movie and i was in charge of the puzzle. derek bought the movie National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation and I got a little dog puzzle. it actually took us two movies to finish the puzzle but it was worth it! Afterwards we filled each others stockings and went to bed.

In the morning we opened presents and had a delicious breakfast of cinnamon rols, eggs, sausage, and juice. it was just the two of us, so it was only a matter of time until we missed having the family around, so we headed over to derek's parents house around noon. we opened more gifts there and had a delicious dinner. Sandy made a smoked turkey, prime rib, mashed potatoes, vegetables, rolls, salad, and pies. We played games then later that night derek and me headed back home. i did a horrible job at taking pictures, so i don't really have any... but non the less we were spoiled and had a great day!

derek got lots and lots of tools, we got a dehydrater, beef jerky maker, shop vac, under the counter radio/tv, blender, magic bullet, containers, place mats, scentsy stuff, nail polish, calenders, coloring books, snowboarding equipment (pants, googles, gloves, snowboards), bath stuff, movies, FHE book, work bag, gift cards, and regan got some bones and a cute pink snuggie!

we also went down to utah on sunday and went snowboarding! Derek had never been and he actually did pretty well. our snowboards that we ordered didn't come in time so we had to rent some at sundance but it was still tons of fun. when we got home our boards were in the garage so we get to try them out this thursday at a ski resort here in wyoming!

we have also been working on some house modifications. Tlyncia will be moving in with us at the end of january so we are trying to get her room cleaned up. we also wanted to paint and put shelves up in the garage so we have been working on that quite a bit. I have also always wanted those vinyl lettering stickers things to put on the walls, so i got a couple of them, and we put them up! so here are some pictures in no particular order... the only ones i took this december.
