For us this year was full of do overs and new experiences.
We started the year off getting remarried in February. We picked a day and time that worked for just Derek and I which happened to be a half hour block between school getting out and soccer practice and we ran over to Wells Fargo bank on the second floor in an attorney's office. The secretary was our witness and a guy down the hall. We said our "i dos" in sweats in less than 15 minutes.
In March we found out I was pregnant! We tried for almost a year in 2010 and it never happened so we were thrilled that it happened so fast this time around. For spring break we went to Vegas with our friends. We new this would be one of our last trips "baby free" so we enjoyed not having to pack heavy or fill limited on what we could do. When we returned home we celebrated Easter and we got to share the news of our upcoming arrival with our family and friends!
We sold our Spoleto house in May and moved back in with Derek's parents in Green River while we waited for our new house to be built. Derek continued working at FMC but bid to a surface job rather then underground. He is now the stock pile operator which is a fancy way of saying he gets to drive a bull dozer and move a bunch of trona around. I finished my 4th year of teaching (2nd year at Rock Springs High School) and my second year of coaching girls soccer.
In June we moved into our new house, we worked hard on finishing the backyard landscaping and we even were able to start a garden and get some goods before the growing season was over. The summer consisted of Derek working, me organizing and decorating the new house, and on Derek's days off a little fishing, scouting for wildlife, and trips down to Utah to visit family and shop for baby!
Derek shot a deer this hunting season... his largest yet! He is getting the head mounted and I am letting him hang it on our living room wall!
(never in a million years did I ever think I would be okay with that)
But the most exciting day of the year was when Beckham came into our lives, November 7, 2013! He was 7 pounds 3 ounces and 19.75 inches.
It was a quick delivery, slow recovery, but worth every second!
WE LOVE OUR little FAMILY!
Speaking of little... Regan and Bailee are still doing well. They put on a little baby weight ;) so we'll have to work on that this summer.
